An advanced, easy-to-use system to help shipowners comply
with new emissions reduction regulations.
Kyma SHaPoLi enables shipowners to easily comply with new emission reduction regulations by implementing necessary measures on ships that fail to meet Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) standards.
The system operates as a standalone device, adhering to IACS EEXI guidelines No. 172 and providing tamper-proof recording, processing, and calculation of shaft power information.
The information is made available to the ship’s master or Officer in Charge of Navigational Watch (OICNW) in the event that shaft power exceeds limits.

KYMA Shaft Power Meter
Comply with Latest Regulations and Reduce Emissions
The Kyma Shaft Power Sensor measures shaft torque and thrust* using the strain gauge technique. The instrument consists of an aluminum ring clamped onto the shaft, a stationary unit located next to the shaft and a terminal junction box for signal and power connection.
The following propulsion data are recorded by the Kyma Shaft Power Sensor and presented on the Display Unit:
- Total Energy Power
- Total revolutions
Reliable & Efficient Propulsion Monitoring
The Kyma Shaft Power Sensor requires minimal maintenance, with only a zero-calibration recommended to be performed every 6 months. This simple operation can be done by ship staff in approximately 10 minutes.
The performance systems have been extensively tested, with over 4000 systems sold to date. Some of these installations were completed over 30 years ago and are still in use today, demonstrating their reliability and durability.
Early warning signals in propulsion monitoring, which improve efficiency, prevent breakdowns, and extend component lifespan.
