SAILOR TT-3000LT mini-C Long Range Identification and Tracking System

Dear Valued Maritime Customer,

The increased market awareness with regards to LRIT has raised many questions in relation to the ship borne equipment. Many of these naturally relate to the issue of compliance using existing equipment, and the potential implications of this, both financially and technically.

Furthermore there are cases where a ship-owner or operator either has an on board satcom installation which is non LRIT upgradeable, or is reluctant to interfere with existing fully functional GMDSS or SSAS installations.
In light of this Thrane & Thrane have decided to launch a dedicated SAILOR LRIT mini-C transceiver.

This will guarantee compliance with minimum hassle to the ship-owner/operator regardless of the ships flag.

Only 3 parts:

The SAILOR TT-3000 LRIT is a cost-effective fit-and-forget system. The system only comprises of 3 parts:
• Mini-C Transceiver
• Connection Cable
• Pole Mount

Ease of installation is a key factor for standalone LRIT transceivers. Therefore the only thing needed to make the system operational is to connect the transceiver to power via the standard mini-C cable.
No other installation required!

The transceiver is preloaded with a dedicated LRIT configuration which enables it to be used for LRIT only ensuring stability and making it virtually tamper proof.
To cater for every possible installation need, there is a choice of either a 20m or 50m connection cable.

The systems come complete with installation guide and documentation. Due to the simplicity, it can basically be fitted by the crew on board. All that then remains to be done is for the owner or master to submit transceiver details upon request from the flag state datacenter.

First customer shipment is scheduled to be July 1st 2008.

Free LRIT transceiver test

Thrane & Thrane now offers a unique service that provides any owner or operator of SAILOR Thrane & Thrane equipment suited for LRIT, with a free of charge remote test of existing equipment to determine if it meets the LRIT performance standard. Normally the SSAS or GMDSS Inmarsat C installation will be the default LRIT carrier; unless a separate stand-alone LRIT solution is wanted.

This LRIT test is done over the air and comprises of a series of polling tests and program downloads, and will take approximately 5 working days. Upon completion of the test a report will be issued and sent via e-mail. We will be taking in applications now, and start formal testing July 1st. 2008.
